Cycle Motion Tests
Ergotron knows you expect a product to work trouble free for a long time. To ensure the utmost confidence in our designs, Ergotron performs a rigorous test where height-adjustable products are subjected to continued lift/lower motion over thousands of cycles.
Each cycle equates to moving a lift-engine from its lowest position to its highest position and then back again. So when a product passes a 10,000-cycle test, it has been physically moved up and down 10,000 times!
What does this mean? You have a quality product that has been thoroughly tested thru all aspects of its function. In the case of the LX Arm, for example, to reach 10,000 cycles a user would need to move their display through the arm’s full 13" (33 cm) height range about three times a day over a ten-year period. That is unlikely to happen, but Ergotron always errs on the side of safety.
