Our height-adjustable products undergo performance tests exceeding the industry’s most rigid testing expectations, and unlike competitive offerings, you can expect our LX Arm to perform with the same ease and dependability in its 10,000th motion adjustment as in its first.
Our adaptable products will continue to be useful when new personnel use a workstation, computer hardware is upgraded, or a workspace is reconfigured. Products with a long useful life are more environmentally sustainable and deliver a strong ROI. In terms of Sustainable Building, our products are compliant with certification criteria. Our highly adaptable and space-saving products can help gain LEED-CI, -NC and -EB credits as defined by the U.S. Green Building Council, or earn Green Star points as defined by the Green Building Council Australia through the implementation of a comprehensive ergonomics program.

European Union Directive 2011/65/EU—“Restriction on the use of certain Hazardous Substances” (RoHS)—restricts the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB (polybrominated biphenyls), PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers), Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP). Ergotron products are now made to be 100% RoHS compliant.
The People’s Republic of China has implemented its own RoHS requirements: Administration on the Control of Pollution caused by Electronic Information Products (ACPEIP). In its first phase of implementation, ACPEIP requires a label be applied to all affected electronic products indicating the product’s environmental protection use period, as well as listing the concentration of harmful materials in the manual. Ergotron will monitor the development of this standard and maintain compliance as further requirements develop.
Ergotron products do not fall under the scope of the Japan Law for the Promotion of the Effective Utilization of Resources (J-MOSS or Japan RoHS). We are in compliance with the restricted material levels set forth in the legislation.
Ergotron verifies compliance with restricted materials regulations through testing of materials supplied by our vendors. Each supplier is required to supply a declaration of conformity along with supporting laboratory analyses to verify compliance with hazardous material limits. Ergotron also performs RoHS testing, adding further assurance that Ergotron products are free from harmful substances like lead, mercury, etc.
Ergotron is at this time fully compliant with the European Union EC 1907/2006 REACH regulation. We have not identified any specific safety concerns with any articles provided by Ergotron. We continue to maintain compliance with the directive by working with our suppliers to monitor and report if necessary the presence of any substances listed in the European Chemicals Agency’s Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) in any of our products. We intend to continue monitoring our supplier’s materials and their compliance with the REACH directive and implement requirements in our new product design process to minimize or eliminate the use of SVHCs.
Ergotron actively monitors the regulatory environment to remain aware of impending legislation that will impact its products. It is Ergotron’s position to be proactive in compliance with all applicable laws.
The European Union has enacted the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (2012/19/EU), requiring that manufacturers and distributors of electronic equipment are responsible for managing the collection and further handling (including recycling) of their products. All affected Ergotron products have been marked with the WEEE marking (shown here), in accordance with European Standard EN 50419.
Ergotron has registered with the appropriate governmental organizations in those countries (the Netherlands, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom) where we have a legal entity in Europe. In countries where we do not have a legal presence, Ergotron has contracted with its distributors to fulfill its WEEE registration obligations. Due to the long product life and business-to-business nature of Ergotron’s distribution network, Ergotron has chosen to join collective schemes to simplify the collection and recycling of waste products.
Although Europe has pioneered the legislation for the proper disposal of WEEE, there are several other regions throughout the world that are implementing similar requirements. Ergotron closely follows the status of international take-back legislation, in order to be prepared to serve its business and household customers more effectively.
The WEEE Directive requires that manufacturers and distributors manage and finance the collection and subsequent treatment, recycling, and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Ergotron falls under the business to business (B2B) requirements of the directive, and has registered as a producer in those countries where we have legal presence.
The Directive divides WEEE into two categories – New WEEE, which refers to products placed on the market after 13 Aug 2005, and Historic WEEE, which are products placed on the market before 13 Aug 2005. Though Ergotron’s obligation to handle Historic WEEE is limited by the EU Directive, we have chosen to handle both New and Historic WEEE in the same manner.
Ergotron’s powered StyleView carts (and their accessories) and powered charging products fall under WEEE take-back requirements. Ergotron is not responsible for the collection and recycling of the customer-furnished computer equipment installed on products. Customers are to remove and properly dispose of all batteries before arranging for collection of WEEE.
In order to be able to maintain competitive pricing, Ergotron has decided to share the costs of WEEE treatment with our customers. For customers in the EU, Ergotron will pay for the treatment and recycling of the WEEE, as well as reporting of waste data to the responsible government organization. The customer/end user is responsible for the cost of transportation to Ergotron’s appointed recycler, WEEECare.
