What is Unique About Ergotron Products?

  • Up to 10,000-cycle test applied to lift mechanisms, ensuring years of trouble-free height adjustment; all product functions are endurance tested to expected life of the product
  • 100% functional test for every product
  • Cycle testing performed on sample basis per product reliability criteria
  • Common laboratory capabilities in USA and China
  • Factory OHSAS 18001:1999 certification
  • Company-wide ISO 9001:2008 certification
  • Quality control requirements are fully documented and controlled...
This ensures a comprehensive assessment of production from beginning to end
  • Load Testing...
4x load test (beyond requirements of UL) ensures product safety for the rigors of public use
  • Medical Electrical Testing to UL/EN/IEC 60601-1 and other int’l standards...
The only open-architecture carts in the industry certified at both the power and cart level
  • Environmental Certifications...
ISO:14001 all facilities; RoHS compliance for all products since 2006, which includes a detailed compliance system of routine product testing—(RoHS tester at China manufacturing facility adds extra assurance that products are free of harmful substances like lead and mercury); WEEE compliance for powered products; Reach compliant

Cycle Motion Tests

LX Arm: 10K cycle tested

Ergotron knows you expect a product to work trouble free for a long time. To ensure the utmost confidence in our designs, Ergotron performs a rigorous test where height-adjustable products are subjected to continued lift/lower motion over thousands of cycles.

Each cycle equates to moving a lift-engine from its lowest position to its highest position and then back again. So when a product passes a 10,000-cycle test, it has been physically moved up and down 10,000 times!

What does this mean? In the case of the LX Arm, for example, to reach 10,000 cycles a user would need to move their display through the arm’s full 13" (33 cm) height range over five times a day over a five-year period. That is unlikely to happen, but Ergotron always errs on the side of safety.

StyleView is completely certified—at both the power and cart levels—making it unique.

Certification Is a Priority

Ergotron is certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2008. This certification demonstrates Ergotron’s commitment to employing best-practice procedures in its facilities.

One reason for attaining this ISO certification is because Ergotron takes safety very seriously. And that is why we go a step further and emphasize complete certification of many of our products. For example, StyleView Carts are fully certified to UL/EN/IEC 60601-1 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No.601.1 M90 standards that regulate Electrical Medical Devices. This means the entire power system AND the cart itself are certified by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).

No other company can make this claim about their open-architecture cart. In fact, competitors’ declarations of “power system” certification may not include all components of the system. And issues like cart mechanics and grounding are ignored. Full cart certification eliminates any fear of EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) and controls leakage to NFPA levels.

Look for the sticker: Certified carts display a label on their outside as proof of certification. Ergotron’s StyleView has it—for the entire cart!
