Netbook Operation & Updates

 

Issues related to the Latitute™ 2120, 2110 or 2100 Netbook PC itself should be directed to Dell Support.

Power Issues

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Netbook(s) not charging
Unplugged power cord
Improper docking of netbook(s)
Netbook dock(s) contain debris
Tripped electrical circuit
Ensure power cord is fully connected to outlet
Inspect and clear debris from netbook dock(s)
Verify netbook is docked properly: green tab at dock’s edge should be visible
Check facility circuit breakers
If another electrical device shares the circuit, unplug that device
Power/Fault Status Indicator is flashing amber
Overheating
Ensure areas around fans/vents are clear
Reduce room temperature below 86° F (30° C)
Keep power cord plugged-in so fans continue to operate

Connectivity Issues

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Cannot access Ethernet switch to change settings
Lost username and/or password for Ethernet switch
Contact Ergotron for reset options; please have serial number available
Cannot wake up netbooks
Ethernet switch power cord unplugged
Netbook Ethernet cables are unplugged
Ensure Ethernet power cord is connected to controller box outlet
Ensure netbook Ethernet cables are connected to Ethernet switch

Mechanical Issues

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Cart cannot be moved
Caster(s) are locked
Each caster has a keyed-lock feature in addition to a foot brake
Using supplied caster key, ensure each caster keyed-lock indicator is pointing to the “unlocked” icon
Ensure each caster foot brake is in the raised position
