ST. PAUL, MN November 13, 2007
The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards competition recognizes the hottest products in the consumer electronics industry. For the second consecutive year, St. Paul-based Ergotron has achieved industry recognition as nominated products are awarded CES Innovations Design and Engineering Honors by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). This year, three Ergotron products made the cut in the furniture and computer accessories categories. Honors for the LX Video Conferencing Cart, the Neo-Flex™ Mobile WorkSpace and the Neo-Flex Notebook/Projector Lift Stand have all been added to Ergotron’s growing list of accolades.
LX Video Conferencing Cart:
This sleek all-in-one system is ready to roll. The one-of-a-kind, height-adjustable LX Video Conferencing Cart (LX VCC) converts any space into a videoconference center. The LX VCC has robust features and can serve a variety of videoconferencing needs. It features an adjustable camera shelf that enables the camera to move in tandem with the display. With 20 inches (51 cm) of effortless height adjustment and 20 degrees of independent display tilt, the LX Cart provides optimal positioning of a videoconferencing system for both seated and standing audiences.
Neo-Flex Mobile WorkSpace:
Designed for manufacturing floors, clinical documentation, labs, distribution centers, retail, education and any other high-activity area, the Neo-Flex Mobile WorkSpace transforms any space into a productive computing environment. This compact cart is the perfect platform for true point-of-need data input, which increases accuracy and productivity while supporting wireless initiatives in any facility. The ergonomic 20-inch (51 cm) height range enables comfortable data entry whether an employee is seated or standing. While its extremely small footprint makes this cart a perfect fit in many tight back-office spaces, such as test labs and inspection areas, its durable construction, open architecture and aesthetically pleasing design make it a workhorse for many front-office and administrative surge activities, such as seasonal point-of-sale cash registers and collegiate class registration. It can easily be moved to the temporary point-of-need and then moved out of the way when the activity is finished.
Neo-Flex Notebook/Projector Lift Stand:
The Neo-Flex Lift Stand was developed using Constant Force (CF) patent pending lift-and-pivot motion technology. With little effort, one can lift and tilt a notebook screen up to six inches (15 cm) or swivel it side-to-side. At home, make paying bills, searching the net or viewing photos easier by placing a screen where it can be seen best. In the office, enhance productivity by pairing a notebook alongside an existing LCD to create a dual-display configuration. Get desktop computing comfort with notebook portability. Also use this versatile stand with projectors for fast setup and optimum projecting.
“The core of our business is developing innovative products with superior functionality and design that promote user wellness,” explained Joel Hazzard, president and CEO Ergotron. “We’re honored to be recognized by CEA for the second year in a row. This success validates our innovation and confirms our role as the global leader in digital display mounting solutions.”
As a widely renowned consumer technology awards program that began in 1989, the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards recognize achievements in product design and engineering. Products entered in the competition are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade press to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products. The Innovations entries are judged based on the following criteria:
Aesthetic and design qualities
The product’s intended use/function and user value
Unique/novel features that consumers would find attractive
