Ergotron’s RhythmConnect software and RhythmConnect-ready assets include a FIPS-validated module called the Ergotron Cryptographic Module. This module provides the cryptographic services needed to securely support the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS 140-3), a security benchmark certification mandated by the U.S. federal government that protects sensitive but unclassified information using cryptography.

The following products incorporate a FIPS 140-3 validated module:

RhythmConnect is designed with strong security features, including encryption of data at rest and in transit, regular security updates, and industry-standard secure authentication methods. Since no software is installed on PCs of RhythmConnect-ready workstations, the risk of local vulnerabilities is minimized. Importantly, RhythmConnect does not collect, store or process any protected health information (PHI). Patient data remains fully separate from the fleet management system, providing an additional layer of protection for sensitive information.

RhythmConnect offers two location service options—floor-level and room-level—to provide flexible, location-based monitoring and management for your assets. Both allow you to customize your fleet monitoring approach to meet your specific operational needs.

Floor-Level Location Service: The standard option with a RhythmConnect subscription, it enables broad monitoring across entire floors. It’s ideal for overseeing general fleet movements, tracking asset utilization and identifying an asset’s location as being within a large area.

Room-Level Location Service: This upgrade enhances location precision, enabling your IT team to pinpoint assets for closer monitoring with room-by-room data. This level is well-suited for areas with high asset density or where high efficiency in fleet management is essential.

RhythmConnect prioritizes alerts based on criticality, ensuring IT teams can efficiently allocate their resources. The system sends notifications for issues like low-battery warnings or service needs. Additionally, clinicians can report problems directly from a mobile workstation with the IT team being notified immediately, allowing them to address the issue promptly and minimize downtime.
