Phil Kelaart

Chief Operating Officer

Phil joined the Ergotron team in 2020, bringing three decades of international executive management experience. As chief operating officer, Phil leads the teams responsible for Ergotron’s innovation strategy and operational execution. Phil’s leadership style focuses on developing a common cross-functional vision and working with his teams in a hands-on fashion to find creative solutions to complex problems.

Phil spent much of his career at Emerson, holding roles of increasing responsibility in all areas of the business enterprise. Most recently, he was president of Emerson’s isolation valves business in Baar, Switzerland. Throughout his time at Emerson he led global teams, joint ventures, technology transfers, and acquisition integrations in 15 countries throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. He established an innovative center of excellence for additive manufacturing to reduce time to market and improve the availability of custom products and spare parts, and was also responsible for introducing Emerson’s perfect execution business strategy—tying customer values, new product development, sourcing, lean principles and integrated systems to achieve an enhanced customer experience.

Phil received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and his MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Phil and his wife, Michele, live in Minneapolis. In his free time, Phil enjoys being with his family, including his grandchildren who brought him back to Minnesota. A dedicated Masters Swimmer, during the warmer months Phil can be found cycling or walking around the Twin Cities lakes or spending time at his cabin in Wisconsin.
