An updated line of powered and non-powered Electronic Medical Record (EMR) carts has been introduced by Ergotron as part of its award-winning StyleView® portfolio. Ergotron’s newest mobility solution—the StyleView EMR Cart, available in 19 configurations—will offer nurses and other healthcare providers the broadest choice of attractive, lightweight and highly configurable point-of-care carts compatible with laptop computers and LCD monitors.
Promoting height adjustability, independent screen positioning, easy maneuverability and infection control, Ergotron’s ergonomic EMR laptop and LCD carts meet the individual needs of caregivers while supporting the application-specific needs at the point of care.
Carts with an LCD arm, LCD pivot or laptop mount are available in both non-powered and powered configurations. Included in this offering is the lightest cart in the portfolio, the new StyleView EMR Laptop Cart, SV40, weighing in at just 50 lbs (22.7 kg). Features common to all 19 cart configurations include:
- An ergonomic design that accommodates nurses and other caregivers of many heights. Unlike competitive products, EMR cart users as short as 5'0" (152 cm) and as tall as 6'1" (185 cm) can work comfortably and productively in a seated position
- Sit or stand positioning with single-motion adjustment
- A back-tilt keyboard tray with left- or right-mouse tray that ensures neutral positioning for wrists
- An arm configuration that allows screen adjustment down low to the worksurface for people wearing bifocals or using a tablet PC, further promoting caregiver wellness and productivity
Ergotron’s StyleView EMR Carts meet guidelines established by the American National Standards Institute for computer use and, with the exception of the StyleView SV40 Cart, have surfaces treated with Agion® Antimicrobial for product protection. Cart handles are smooth and continuous for easier cleaning. All carts are tested to UL/EN/IEC and FCC Part 15 Class A specifications for enhanced patient safety and offer durable, easy-to-clean exteriors composed of aluminum, high-grade plastic and zinc-plated steel to help promote infection control.
“Healthy computing starts with understanding the diverse needs required to bring EMR, eMAR, PACS and CPOE to the point of care,” says Steve Reinecke, CPHIMS, senior global director of healthcare and education industries at Ergotron. “Ergotron has packed these carts with the broadest range of features that caregivers have asked for, all for an affordable price. With almost 30 years of experience in creating ergonomic solutions for computer users worldwide, and 20 years in healthcare alone, Ergotron is uniquely qualified to help our customers configure options and design workstations that fit their workflow—throughout their entire facility.”
Ergotron’s new StyleView EMR Laptop and LCD Carts can be obtained globally. MSRPs range from $999 for the SV40 model to $2,699 for powered laptop and LCD versions. Availability is planned for mid-August in North America and Asia-Pacific, and early September in Europe. Patient Healthcare Delivery (PHD) carts will be added to the line this fall.
