ST. PAUL, MN February 25, 2008
Ergotron today introduced all new powered and non-powered point-of-care computing carts, StyleView 31 and StyleView 32, to the global Healthcare IT community at the Healthcare Information Management and System Society (HIMSS) in Orlando, FL. StyleView 31 and 32 carts bring forward today’s most essential functionality features in a lightweight, highly maneuverable form factor. Most importantly, StyleView 31 and 32 were designed to bring new levels of affordability to the budget-challenged healthcare market. Healthcare IT professionals understand the relationship between information technology applications and improved patient care, but struggle to find ways to fund complex, system-wide applications, such as Electronic Medical Record (EMR) initiatives. Point-of-care computing cart usage is predominantly driven by EMR deployments, which are expected to deeply penetrate more than 30% of US hospitals by 2010.
“We’ve really crystallized our role in the Healthcare community,” explained Joel Hazzard, President and CEO of Ergotron. “Certainly, StyleView carts are the new stars in our point-of-care portfolio. But the recent addition of the Ergotron Service Program also establishes a new level of connection with our customers. We understand that what hospitals really need are collaboration partners, who can help them assess how to best achieve the goal of improved patient care by offering a portfolio of mounting and mobility choices to support EMR and other point-of-care applications.”
The feather-light StyleView 31 non-powered cart is offered at an MSRP starting at $1,399—at least 30% lower than any other non-powered cart available today. The StyleView 31 is available for both notebook and flat panel monitor configurations. Either computing configuration can be further customized by adding an electronic locking drawer.
The feature-rich StyleView 32 powered cart is offered at an MSRP starting at an astounding $2,599, half the cost of most comparable competitive models. Similarly, the StyleView 32 is available in notebook and flat panel monitor configurations, with or without one or two electronic locking drawers.
The new StyleView carts will be available in the second quarter of 2008.
