Ergotron, the global leader in computer and video display mounting equipment, today announced the publication of a case study conducted at the National Healthcare Group (NHG) of Singapore. This study showcased how the partnership of Ergotron, Datumstruct (Ergotron’s Singapore distributor) and Dell collaborated to produce a timely and productive mobile computing solution for the $1 billion group of facilities.
The challenge facing NHG was to improve patient care by bringing computer technology to the point of care. A system that would be dependable, easily managed and flexible so it could meet the needs of a wide variety of employees was needed. NHG found such a system in the Ergotron StyleView Cart, which significantly outscored other carts that were considered.
“We were very impressed with both the responsiveness and the service we received from Ergotron,” said Dr. Christopher Khor, Senior Consultant for NHG. “There was a high degree of commitment by Ergotron to come up with the right solution, and they made a demonstration unit available to the facility quickly.”
NHG found that introducing mobile solutions to their healthcare facilities exceeded their expectations for improved patient care. By bringing computers to the point of care, caregivers are able to spend more time with patients. When critical information is needed, it can be accessed quickly. Furthermore, waiting lines for computers at nursing stations have been eliminated, which significantly improves productivity. And while it is impossible to calculate costs of ownership and return on investment, the change to StyleView Carts is seen as a great success.
