Jim Fischer Senior Vice President of Information Services


He’s been a member of the Ergotron team since May of 1996. Jim’s responsibilities include aligning IS strategies and goals with overall company goals and objectives. He is also responsible for managing and implementing the development of long term strategic IS plans and appropriate security of IS and voice/data networks. Prior to his current position, Mr. Fischer started at Ergotron as an IS Manager and then became the Director of IS.

Before joining Ergotron, Jim was a Network Coordinator at Lifetouch and a Manager of Information Services at Norwest Banks Corporate Trust. Mr. Fischer has also been a member of Norex, which is an association of IT professionals.

Jim received a Bachelors of Science degree in History from Mankato State University and a Mini-Masters degree in Technology from the University of St. Thomas. Throughout his career, Mr. Fischer has attended many leadership and IS courses, seminars and conferences.

One of Jim’s greatest achievements includes leading the successful Global Implementation of Oracle 11i in September of 2004. While at Ergotron, he has led the implementation of Unified Messaging, Y2K, Global LAN and WAN infrastructure, Wireless and Mobile computing. The first company Intranet and E-commerce sites were developed during Mr. Fischer’s tenure. Including one of the Twin Cities first .NET built e-store sites.

Mr. Fischer also leads a progressive Applications Team and a Team of Business Analysts that are using Best Practices in leading many strategic business initiatives, including ERP, CRM and Sales Force Automation.
