Distribution Account Manager


Position Summary

The Distribution Account Manager (DAM) will be the primary point of contact for IT Broadline Distributors and will be responsible for the development, maintenance and enhancement of Ergotron’s business relationship within this account.

Activity/ Performance Measures: Sales by distribution market Sales by specific targeted customers New customer sales Sales by product Seed unit placement via Distributor’s resellers

Position Responsibilities

Assist Distributor's sales representatives in closing sales in order to achieve or exceed company business objectives Plan and execute an effective relationship strategy and maintain effective long-term business relationships with representatives and members of Distributor's management team Identify and prioritize opportunities and develop business partner growth strategies On a sustained basis secure and distribute detailed information on partner’s top resellers and collaborate closely with Territory and Reseller Engagement Sales Teams growth of these resellers’ Ergotron sales Develop an effective account plan, determining sales and activity goals required for attainment of assignd quota and company business objectives Work closely with Marketing to create strategy and craft messages that speak directly to the needs of their accounts Responsible for revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction of assigned account Effectively communicate Ergotron’s value proposition and product knowledge through sales activities, trainings and other events. This includes: Assist customer's personnel in broadening their product expertise and sales opportunities Train customer on operational processes Drive product, promotions and programs Develop proposals, account or market plans, and forecast/report sales activity to assist in closing additional business Meet or exceed assigned quota and company business objectives and profitability goals for assigned account; Manage account to deliver committed revenue targets Assist customer in developing and managing a business plan that addresses the incremental growth of Ergotron revenue and market share Act as a champion and interface between customer and Ergotron and other functional groups (field sales, telesales, services, marketing, etc.) Interface with Program Management to identify operational concerns and assist with stock rotation Communicate customer feedback around products/services/pricing, etc. to Sales, Program Management Provide competitor feedback and new product support, and update/maintain customer information Prioritize and coordinate sales opportunities with Sales and Business Unit departments Develop and execute product sales plans to capture prioritized sales opportunities Function as a high-level product/market and sales technical trainer as required Identify and provide basic input on sales tools, technical materials, sales collateral, media and other promotional materials and campaigns to the Channel Marketing Team Communicate product requirements, technical requirements and specifications with respective Product Managers Conduct on-site product, program and market training with the Distributor and their customers as required Identify training and reference materials needed for customer sales training programs Recruitment of New Tier 2 Resellers

Preferred Qualifications

BS/BA Degree in Business, Sales or other related field 5+ years’ experience selling hard line technical solutions and/or working within a Channel sales environment Relevant language skills - English Strong aptitude in a “Team selling” environment Proven ability to manage large accounts Strong communication, training and presentation skills Possesses business and financial acumen Ability to travel required
